Day 20

We began with Dr. Kun in the computer. Lab and completing our Gaeti survey. Next we went on the computers and registered for our CEUs. Then we presented e Portfolio/Lesson Plan Presentations. We had a working lunch, then we made sure that we had complete all assignments in the Gaeti workshop. Last we did our blog, this has been a nice long ride to technology.  I have learned a myriad of technology that will definitely be used in my classroom.
Thanks to each any everyone that had association with the Gaeti 2015 what a success.

Day 19

We began the day with Dr. Bracey and a Skype from Kursat from Turkey. He talked about their Education system, Foods, Culture, Population, Currency and many other interesting things. Next we went to the computer lab and continued to work on our lesson plan. After lunch we went to complete and present our art project with Mrs. Latham, I really enjoyed her and her patience. Next we went to the computer lab and completed our lesson plan and our letter to the superintendent downloaded it on weebly.

Day 18

Began with Dr. Lee the Padlet, Info-graphic, Making audio content, and Canvas 101. We created videos in Audio Boom and Pitochart I will definitely use this inside my classroom. After lunch we completed our integrated art project with Mrs.Latham.We ended the day with Dr. Lee, we set up a course menu in Canvas which was very neat.We created a course content page, Course Discussion, Rubrics and many other educational tools. What a great day, Looking forward to tomorrow.

Day17

We began the morning with Dr. Bracey and the Overview of Remaining Assignments.Next we went to the computer room with Dr. Beriswill to continue working on Digital Storytelling and Videoing with Flat Stanley. After lunch we went to Art to continue Exploring Culture through Art with Angela Latham. Then we worked on our lesson plan with Dr. Bracey. We ended the day with Dr. Beriswill and Skyping with  Taiwan.

Day 16

We started the morning with Technology Policy letter Collaboration, and then Continue Storytelling  with Flat Stanley Collection of Photos/Video Clips with Dr. Beriswill and made our own video. We chose several different Restaurants on campus for Flat Stanley to eat and made a video. After lunch we went to the computer lab and completer our letter to persuade our school district to use one to one and the we worked on our lesson plans.

Day 15

Started the morning with Jeannette Bennett with Financial Literacy. Next we had a Prezi presentation by Stephanie Agnew. She taught us how to start and use a new Prezi and how to use all the tools that comes with Prezi. I will definitely use inside the classroom. After lunch we worked out art project with Angela Latham great ideas. Next we went to the computer lab with Dr. Beriswill to do Digital Storytelling videos. What a great activity! I will definitely use inside my classroom.

Day 14

We begun the day with Dr. Lee in the computer lab working collaboratively in Canvas creating our web-quest in small groups that we can take back and incorporate into our classroom. Then we played and developed educational games on the I Pad in small groups. After lunch we went to continue working on our art project with Angela Latham. We ended the day with Dr. Lee making a newspaper  articles  in small groups on the desktop! This was a great activity and looking for to learning more great things that i can use in my classroom. GAETI 2015 rocks!!

Day13

We started with housekeeping with Dr. Lee and Dr. Beriswill. We had a speaker from Chile present through Skype. Then we went to the computer lab and completed a PowerPoint presentation with Dr. Lee. We made a movie and sent it to YouTube and shared to our Weebly account. Then we went to The  T.K.Martin Center for a tour. After lunch we worked on our projects with Angela Latham. We ended the day with Dr. Lee, creating a webquest assignment. Good day!!!

Day 12

Started the morning with Dr. Sang Joon Lee, with introduction to Canvas. We discussed learning Management system and many teaching tools and how to use them in your classroom.Dr. Sang taught us how to set up a Canvas account.Then Know your Copyrights in the classroom.  (Mrs. Powers).We discussed the purpose of copyright,what copyright protects, copyrights 101, copyrighted holder, lengths of copyrights, benefits of copyrights, fair use of copyright, and measuring fair use of copyright and much more interesting facts about copyright.After lunch we with on our project with Mrs. Angela Latham and we also did a write up on having the project put on the wall in the classroom. We ended the day with Dr. Sang and Canvas and we created a story using Storify and added it to our Weebly  website. I have enjoyed the day and looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 11

We started the morning with Dr.Bracey, discussing the topic School/District Policy Involvement Discussion. (BYOD) Bring Your Own Device. We did a small group activity discussing the pros and cons of having 1 on 1 access to students having their own device in schools. Then we did a activity on pros and cons on the access of the use of the district devices. We watch two short videos on different school districts and their device policy. We received several handouts with lots of interesting information about pros and cons, devices and technology policies in the schools. After lunch we went to Art with Angela Latham to continue working on our project. Next we had a presentation with Nashandra James, titled Benefits and implementations of a 1 on 1 program.A lot of great information. We ended the day with Dr. Bracey in the computer room and discussed what to do to encourage our schools to invest in (BYOD), Bring Your Own Device into our school districts. Then we did our Bloggers. Great day looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 10

We started the morning with Mr.Nick Timmerman, Native American Civil Rights. We watched a short film on Indian Tribes of Mississippi, and how to incorporate it inside the classroom. Then we took a tour to the Mitchell Memorial Library called the Grant tour with Dr. Sherman-Morris, and discussed Grant's Documents! Afterwards we did a small group activity with Dr. Sherman Moss from the Ms. History now. After lunch Art with Angela Latham great activity. After art we went to the Geology museum.Then we went to the Dunn Museum very interesting artifacts. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 9

We begun with Kimberly Lane, Integrating Technology. We discussed the importance of keeping up with technology, Common Core and technology, 21st century and watch a short video on the 21st century and technology which was entitled 1981 Primitive Internet report on Kron. We discussed critical thinking, media literacy, communication, collaboration, and information literacy. All this great information I can take back and incorporate into my classroom. Digital Citizenship and Morphing into 21st century teachers was another interesting topic we elaborated on. Live binder.com great website I will definitely use inside the classroom. We watched a short video about google docs in plain English explaining how to use google drive. We learned how to share, edit, and file new documents. After lunch we went to art to finish working on our Multi-Media Project with Angela Latham. Ended the day with Dr. Bracey in the computer lab to complete our mini lesson plans, and thoroughly went through a lesson plan guiding notes. Great Day!!!

Day 8

We started the day with Dr. Kun, with discussing learning strategies of collaborative learning and ISTE Standards and Technology. A lot of great information that I can take back to my classroom. We discussed tools such as DIIGO,ED UTOPIA, and JIGSAW CLASSROOM great websites for teachers. Next we discussed Team Based Learning and did a small group activity. Then we moved to room 255 for Smart board training, with Dr. Kun. We also did a mini lesson plan. After lunch we did art with Angela Latham.We painted images in our heads, then we chose an image for the internet that we could use as a wall image in our classroom. We ended the day with Dr. Beriswill with useful  board games, and share and save lesson plan with Dr. Kun. Awesome Day.

Day 7

We begun with some housekeeping skills with Dr. Kun. Discussing technology wise, Weebly, Resource Link, and Google search and how it can be used in the classroom. We also discussed how students learn engaging and scaffolding, and students literacy strategies. We watched a few short videos on language and how to engage students in learning. We did a small activity on remembering words from a word bank which will be a great tool that can be used in the classroom. We also discussed simulations with math and science using the PHET Website. We formed small groups of two and threes and found lesson plans in the books that was given and we discussed them and did worksheets. After lunch with Dr. Beriswill creating instructional board games in Excel. We ended the day with Dr.Kun and creating websites and other fun brainstorming skills and games the can be use in the classroom.We created accounts in our Google account. We had to answer two questions
1. What are the two technology tools that you are most likely to use back at school?
    The two technology tools that I will most likely use in my classroom will be the Kahoot, Google Docs, Weebly, and Zip grade.

2. How do you plan to use them?
     I can use each of these tools as an assessment or activity. The Kahoot I can use in my math, and Science class as an assessment tool. I can use the zip grade to may scan trons and grade test.The Google Docs and Weebly can be use as instructional activity tools to find answers to assignments.

Day 6

We begun the morning assignment with Kun Huang with housekeeping. We talk about and discussed lesson planning backward design. Writing performance objectives and then we watched a short video on The 21st Century Education and discussed steps of a lesson plan. We play a game on coming up with what is Backward Design. Each student had the opportunity to add at least 3 words to the definition of what they thought backward is. We discussed a website call Wordle/ Word Cloud.net, and Google Docs. After lunch we had an presentation with Linda Clifton and Connie Gusmus from the Department of Transportation. We learned about the TRAC and RIDES programs.We built 3D models of bridges to measure the weight it will hold.I definitely can incorporate into my science lessons. we discussed a lot of information that we could take back and use inside our classrooms.We ended the session making online Portfolios.

Day 5

We started this morning off with Dr. Bracey with a PowerPoint about 21st Century great ideas I can take back to my class room. Next we discussed State Standards very interesting. After lunch Emily Tate presentation on Crowd sourcing for educators a Myraid of ideas that I can incorporate into my lessons. Back with Dr. Bracey, searching for grants small group activities. Then a presentation from Mr. De'Marco Fomby from the youth Highway Safety program. Presentation was awesome, definitely info. I can take back into my classroom. Of course we ended the day with Blog!

Day 4

      The  Field trip  to the coal mine was very interesting.We watched a PowerPoint about the establishment and the function of the coal mine. After lunch we went on a tour to actually view the mines which was way cool. We saw how the machines worked and how they dig and recover the mines. Next we came back watched another film and did a small group activity pertaining to gravel and porosity and permeability lab.We ended the day with Dr. Kathy Morris in the computer lab discussing the five themes of geography. we were giving examples and asked questions pertaining to Urban Heat, geographic, maps and etc.

Day 2

     GAETI 2015, was awesome, we started out at the Mitchell memorial library with Rob McDougald to learn interesting facts about how to use Google maps. Rob taught us how to create teaching maps to use inside our classrooms, as well as spread sheets. The Kinsey Collection was stunning a lot of interesting facts about history. We also experienced drawing boundaries and how to use Google Earth Pro. It was very interesting. Next we met with Kathy Morris, to learn about the Earth and Geographic. We did a great small group activity with a time line of Geologic time using feet. (awesome). Alright Michael Murphy and the Long Civil Rights movements , there were a myriad of information that I was not familiar with that really educated me. we learn about different times in which events had happened. To end the day Kathy Morris educated us on charts and globe and national geographic. Great day looking forward to June 3,2015.

Day 3

                    GAETI 2015, we started out with  Vinnie Segalini, with Common Core testing in ELA and lesson Plans. We discussed Equip Rubrics, and the 4 rubric Dimensions and MSCCRS.

We were given lots of resources in ELA/ESE which was very helpful.
After lunch we did a Geo-caching Scavenger hunt with Kathy Morris. We did small group activities where we had to search for clues and answer questions pertaining to the clues to find others clues in certain places on the campus which was cool. We used GPS devices, cell phones. we ended the day with Beriswill during games and simulations which was very fun. Awesome Day! Looking forward to the Field trip on Day 4.

Day 1: Tour of campus, and CCS

           The  introduction to the GAETI 2015 was very clear and concise. Along with the  tour of the campus was delighting and interesting to see. All the  different buildings and knowing the history behind them was a great experience. Dr. Bracey elaborated on Common Core Standards and Objectives which was very interesting and helpful. The trip to the library to learn the Magnolia program was exceptional.  I will incorporate all the great information and ideas inside my classroom. How to find research papers and others great things such as using the Magnolia programs. I know that there is a myriad of information about the Gaeti institute and I'm eager to learn. The information on how to create a Blog was amazing, I will also incorporate this inside my classroom with my students.
